Alabama Top 10 (Number 1) Southern Hospitality

I can't say enough good things about the community of Florence. From the time I first arrived, to time I left I never felt like a stranger. I had a great time and can't wait to visit again.

Roar Lions!

Alabama Top 10 (Number 2) The Seasons

The foliage was ablaze. While I appreciate California's mountains, valleys, and beaches, there is something to be said about living in a landscape with a constantly changing color scheme. Before this fall, I had never seen such intense oranges, yellows, and reds.

Another note about Alabama's season's, before arriving I knew it git hot in Alabama so I tried to prep myself. On hot days I would turn my car into a sauna, close the windows and crank up the heat no matter how hot it was outside. I made it through the summer in Alabama, only to find out that Alabama also has a winter. It got into the low 20's multiple times while I was there. Wasn't ready for that, didn't pack cold stuff.

Alabama Top Ten (Number 3) Driving/Parking a Car

Throughout my stay in Alabama, I had no problem finding a (legal) parking spot. This cannot be said about my time in California.
Another thing that sucks about driving in California is traffic lights with cameras that mail you a ticket if you run through a yellow (orange/red) light.
If you are going to give me a 400 dollar traffic violation, I want to see a show. I want a cop to turn on his siren pull me over, maybe even yell at me, and put on a show. If I have to pay so much money, I want to feel like I learned a lesson.
So anti climatic, seeing it in the mail.

Alabama Top Ten (Number 4) Golf

Playing golf in California is great, if you have a bottomless pit of money. Alabama is blessed with the awesomeness that is affectionately known as "RTJ", or "The Trail". Sequestered throughout the state, Robert Trent Jones golf trail are among the best 468 golf holes in the world. If you live in the area and purchase a trail card, you can get out for under 50 bucks. Truly a steal for one of the top courses in the US/World.
RTJ does is not gun shy on making long holes, "Fighten Joe", is a beast, 8000 yards.

When I return to bama, I will definitely bring my sticks.

...what a great word, sequestered.

Alabama Top Ten (Number 5) Ricatoni's

Number 5
Ricatoni's Italian Grill
This is thee place to go for a high quality fancy shmancy dinner in Florence Alabama. My parents got addicted to the dipping spices. I was required to bring back several bottles to curb there addiction.
I'm a fan of the duck sausage pasta with a dollop of goat cheese. mmm
I hear rumor the Morgan Freeman visits Ricatoni's every once and a while.

Alabama Top Ten (Number 6) 107.3 Jimmy Oliver

Number 6
107.3 Jimmy O and Sydney

The radio on my truck didn't change much from 107.3
I mean come on, Great Classics and the Best of Today, what more do you need.

I had the pleasure of going onto the morning show Jimmy and Sydney.
Before one of the games he asked me if I wanted to stop by the radio station the fallowing Wednesday morning.
Why not, when else do I get to talk on the morning radio in Alabama.
I had no idea what to expect but it worked out well, questions about the blog, my experience, and the team.
Jimmy is the man, golfer, knows his music. He is "that cool uncle" everybody has.
